Another year older, another fold and wrinkle. #insertoldwomanemoticon
Okay, it's not so bad yet, but reallyyy.. ever since I turned 21, birthdays became growing old, rather than growing up, and that's quite sad hahaha. Still, I always believed birthdays are worth celebrating (:
Turning 24 was a simple affair this year, no big surprises, no dares and sabotages, but plenty of quality time and love that came in all forms like cards, gifts, videos and messages. With that, Anne's a happy 24 year old. (:
I always get a little emotional during my birthday after being so overwhelmed with being reminded of how blessed I am.. Anne is thankful for all who has been a part of my life, and even more grateful for those who have walked me through seasons, mountains and valleys, supported me, laughed with me cried with me, and are still a part of my life.
Not in the right order of celebration, but here's a lineup of things I did, or things I've received, for me to reminisce about a year or two later.
First celebration of the year was with dear Vivian, cause we were both bored and free.. had a good and hearty Korean meal, ate the portion of 4 people hahaha, and spent the rest of the night shopping. Girls will be girls! (We met again for another Korean meal as birthday celebration part 2, oh I love birthdays) For going the extra mile, loving the same food, having the same hobby, i'd say YAY to many more years of amazing friendship! :D
Finally got to meet up with the girls over dinner at haji lane, at an interesting restaurant with an interesting waiter who flirts with everyone who was in the line and raddy would say #eventothetdgirls hahaha. it never fails to amaze me how 3 people of such different characters and personalities would clique, but Im sure glad we did. :D and even though you girls look soooooo different since I first met you, I know you girls are still the same inside hahaha. and so even if the years continue to change how we look, lets stay the same at heart, and continue to be the happy 3 friends. :D
A special shoutout to the cell who makes Friday a lot brighter at the end of the day, especially so to a very drained and tired Anne-on-friday. It was cell outing the Friday before my birthday and I was so sure the focus for the steamboat was for Feng Kuan who was leaving the country that I was completely surprised when they surprised me with a cake and a card. Cell is family, and I'm soo thankful God brought me into this family.
Also met Ivan who has the same birthday as me (and whom Ive obviously given up on phototaking with hahahah) Our birthdays brought us together as friends, and Im glad that our birthdays have kept us together over the years. (: Always fun, heartwarming and real, blessed birthday too Ivan!
#specialmention My yet to happen meetup/celebration with Weilin. who also sent me a very funny and cute sms. I remember using the quote "Be with friends you can be silly with", and I cant help to thank God for our friendship. You've brought so much joy, so much fun, and with you, it really isnt so much about what we do or where we go but who we're with. I love you!

Turns out we went for a feast at poulet with her mummy! How cool is that! Thoroughly enjoyed myself, cause it's almost like I was in the company of 2 Weilins cause her mummy is so cool she's join in our nonsense hongkonger talk hahahaha. Love her family, and super honored to be loved by them as well. 爱你们!
The girlfriends surprised me with 酒鬼 cakes, flowers and a helium balloon in church on Sunday. We also had our combined celebration over a steamboat lunch. I really enjoyed the simple time of reminiscing, talking and laughing together. "Friends are the family you choose" #overusedquote but for the three of you, you really are family to me. Thank you for going the extra mile to make me feel special. (:
Had the wonderful company of Yining on my actual day of birthday. Of course, a mandatory visit to our favourite store #hardcorecatsocratesfans. And we also had our lunch at eat play love and visited a cat cafe! #whatafulfillingday So glad our birthdays fell on Mondays this year so we could spend time with each other, thank you Yining, you know I know how much I lubbss you! Muacks!
Had dinner with the family at home because mum had to watch her favourite tv show which aired from 7-10pm. The brother and sister treated the family to crab, and the mum cooked soup and some extra dishes.
Since I always blank out whenever I have to make a birthday wish, I decided that I'd make a default one, so God knows what it is even if my mind is blank and I'm just pretending to make a wish. My wish is for the family, to keep safe, to be healthy and to stay close. Would never trade anything else in this world for the family I was born into. To the most important people in my life, and the only people who can love me so unconditionally, I love you all very much!
This year's birthday was extra warm with you by my side. I appreciate the thoughtfulness in your gifts (I finally have my own #pandora(box) :D), the sincere words you've written and the time you took for all of those and your company on this special day. thank you for everything, and I love you dear (:
And yes special mention to the darlings from klang who sang me my most heart melting birthday song. #instantlyheartmeltatthesoundof姐姐anne and also Ben and Reuben who are either too free or too talented, that they wrote a song or rap, took a video of it and posted it on social media #makemefeellikeaauperstar. also received heartfelt messages and cards from some of those dearest to my heart.. like in my previous post, klang's always home and for as long as I can, I want to be part of this big family. (:
There are more celebrations coming up, and though I'm really starting to turn into a ball, I'm thankful for having a reason to celebrate and for the people I have by my side in these celebrations. Grateful to all who remembered this special day, and cared enough to want to share the joy, either through a celebration, a card/gift, a text message or even a Facebook message.. ☺️ Anne is immeasurably blessed. And to Daddy God, who brought me to where I am today, who blessed me with all I have today, Thank You. (:
