Cause I have a friend in you.

Introducing Teacher Anne's source of joy and sunshine every hectic Saturday. Sean and Lee Han. Never knew I'd grow such a hugge attachment to these two 6 and 7 year old boys, since I'd always enjoy teaching the 3 and 4 year olds more.

Sean's bubbly, easygoing and confident. He's imaginative and creative and inspires me so much more than he knows every time I meet him. What makes Sean is his cheery personality, it's like he's got joy overflowing from inside of him. He came to class last week red-eyed, in pain, so much pain that even I could feel his pain; he fell off his scooter on the steep slope in botanical gardens and had cuts on his arm and legs. He walked into the studio, hesitated, and burst into tears, seeking refuge from his mummy. Eventually, he went into class with me, and in less than 5 minutes (yes I'm serious), he dried his tears, and regained his normal self. No, the tears weren't fake or attention seeking tears, but Sean bounces back from bad experiences quickly, and he holds onto none of those bad memories. even though he still had those band aids on him, it was as though he never had that fall. My wish for him is to always have that joy that comes from within, that will bring him through tough times, and will spread so much warmth and sunshine to the people around him.

Lee Han, he's a darling. He's a 101 percent sweetheart. Lee Han bakes with his mother, and Teacher Anne doesn't get left out when he does. He comes to class with a box of cookies or cakes, and says two words that will completely melt me down into a puddle "for you.." (: yes he's a typical don't say much but when he does he will melt you kind of boy)
Lee han's gestures of love don't stop there #yesimveryloved. There was a lesson where I got the two of them to look around the room and find something they wanna be inspired by to create a design for their tshirt, he looked around, turned back at me and said "You! I want to be inspired by you!" #noproperwordstodescribemyfeelingsatthatinstant but a mega awwwwwwwww would suffice.

The boys have their moments too, at times. Sean and his "I don't want to do it anymore" and Leehan's "I don't know how to". But it's also these times that I want to see them through, to nudge and push Sean to go further then he intends so that he reaches his full potential, and to encourage and guide Leehan so that he sees what he is capable of and can be proud of.

So talking about moments, as much as they have theirs, Teacher Anne has hers too. And despite that, I can always feel their love and acceptance in little but significant ways. With them, I'm not just their teacher, but also their friend, and that's a pretty good deal I think (: Sean and Leehan, love you two very much and thank you.
